The sets

Two, three or four parts

Carbonless paper comes in a fixed colour order so everyone down the chain knows which copy is theirs. Pick the number of parts and who gets which.

2-part · DuplicateWhite → Yellow — One copy for the customer, one for you. The everyday choice for invoices, receipts and delivery notes.
3-part · TriplicateWhite → Yellow → Pink — Customer, office and driver — or customer, accounts and job file. The standard for job sheets and works orders.
4-part · QuadruplicateWhite → Yellow → Pink → Green — Where a fourth copy has to go to a separate department, subcontractor or site file.

What we print

Everything a carbonless set can be

Same paper, same process — the difference is the format, the finishing and what is printed on it.

NCR books

Glued and taped along the head with a stiff backing board and a writing shield, numbered and perforated if you want them to be.

NCR pads

Padded sets without the wraparound cover — the cheaper format where the copies are filed rather than carried.

Sequential numbering

Numbered in red or black from any start point you specify, so nothing goes missing between the book and the office.

Perforation

Perforate any part of the set so the customer copy tears out cleanly and the rest stays in the book.

Personalisation

Your logo, terms, VAT number and column headings printed in one or full colour on every part.

Duplicate books in bulk

Repeat orders held on file so a reorder is a phone call, not a fresh artwork job every time.

How ordering works

Five steps, and a proof before anything prints

01

Tell us the job

Size, how many parts, how many sets per book, numbering, perforation and how many books you need.

02

Artwork

Send print-ready artwork, or send a scan of your current book and we will set it up to match.

03

Proof

A PDF proof showing every part, the numbering range and where the perforation falls. Nothing prints until you approve it.

04

Print & finish

Printed on carbonless stock, collated into sets, numbered, perforated and bound with backing board and writing shield.

05

Deliver

Boxed and sent out, with your artwork and last number used kept on file for the reorder.

A busy print shop with presses running
Why it matters

A duplicate book
is a record.

Made for writing onCarbonless paper only works if the pressure transfers cleanly through every part. Cheap stock gives faint third copies that nobody can read.
Numbering that is rightSequential numbering is the whole point of a duplicate book. We confirm your start number and range in writing before printing.
Artwork checked properlyWe check your file for bleed, margins and box alignment before it goes on press, rather than printing exactly what was sent and blaming the file.
Reorders are easyYour artwork and last number used are kept on file, so the next batch carries on where the last one stopped.
Questions

What people ask before ordering

What does NCR actually mean?
No Carbon Required. The sheets are coated so that writing on the top copy transfers through to the parts underneath by pressure alone — no carbon paper in between.
How many parts can I have?
Two, three or four is standard — white, yellow, pink and green in that order. More parts are possible but transfer gets weaker further down, so heavy-handed writing matters.
Can the books be numbered?
Yes, sequentially in red or black, from whatever start number you give us. If you are reordering, we can carry on from where your last book finished.
Can you copy my existing book?
Usually, yes. Send a clear scan or post us a spare and we will set up artwork to match, then send a proof before anything is printed.
Do I need to supply print-ready artwork?
It helps, but it is not required. If you have a logo and a rough idea of the columns you need, we can lay it out and proof it back to you.
What sizes do you print?
A4, A5 and A6 cover most jobs, along with DL for receipt books. Non-standard sizes are possible — tell us the finished size you need.
How long does it take, and what does it cost?
Both depend on quantity, parts and finishing. Send the details and you will get a firm figure and a real lead time rather than a guess.
